GracePointe Kids
“Whoever accepts a child in my name accepts me.” (Matthew 18:5)
At GracePointe Church we are committed to providing intentional opportunities for spiritual growth and formation beginning at the Nursery level. Because each child is a wonderfully unique creation, our desire is that each child experiences the love of God every time he or she walks through our door.
Interactions with Children
All interactions with the children are to be positive, respectful, and supportive of the child’s unfolding development. When speaking to children or adults, our guiding principle is to shorten the distance and lower your voice. Children have tender hearts, and we desire to be image bearers of Christ and His loving approach, as depicted in Luke 18:16, “But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Code of Ethics
GracePointe Church values its role as a member of the families we serve. If serving in children’s ministries, volunteers should only discuss children or families of the church with the Director of Children’s Ministries as is necessary to serve the needs of the child and/or family.
Application, Criminal History, and Proof of Driver License
For those serving in Children’s Ministry, the church requires an application along with a comprehensive criminal history search. A photocopy of the volunteer’s valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance and a driving-record check must also be on file for all volunteers called upon to drive as church agents.
